CREATE A PROFILE

Start by introducing yourself; tell your story. The Plates Chef’s App allows you to share your bio, pictures, and video – don’t miss out using these opportunities to connect! Our Best Practices give helpful hints.

PLAN & ORGANIZE

Menu planning, inventory, scheduling and more are those details which can make or break your success. Consider planning to 2 weeks in advance to reduce waste and increase sell-out opportunities. Check out these organizational tips.

POST: FOOD DETAILS

Be diligent in the details and creative in your captions. Double check allergens and spelling. If you are unsure of the allergens, select ALL. Don’t forget to post a picture to grab diners attention as they scroll through the many tempting option.

POST: DINING EXPERIENCE

Plates gives chefs the option to offer 1 or more of 3 dining experiences: Delivery / Pick-up / Dine-In. Be sure of what you can offer based on the resources you have and choose accordingly. Here are some hospitality tips for each option.

POST: SCHEDULING

Double-check the date & time and verify AM/PM selections. Remember, start & end times indicate when the order can be fulfilled, while the cut-off time dictates how long the posting is available for order.

POST: QUANTITY & PRICING

Choose the quantity based on the total number of orders of a dish you will be able to deliver. While setting the price of the meal, keep in mind the market pricing. Don’t forget to include the Plates transaction fees, and delivery charges if any.

MANAGING ORDERS

Plates offers both Instant and RSVP booking options. When you choose Instant, orders are automatically accepted. RSVP requires you to either accept or reject a diner’s request within 2 hours. Learn more about managing these option.

GET COOKING

Put on your Chef’s hat because it’s time for the fun part! Of course, don’t forget to double check your allergens. Take every necessary precaution for the ultimate safety of the food. Stay organized to ensure you are able to deliver the meals in time.

SHOW TIME

Time to present your yummy dishes! For delivery, incorporate the travel time to avoid late delivery. For pick-up, ensure a safe entrance to your home. For dine-in, look at our hospitality tips to give your diners the best experience.

REVIEW

Reviewing your diners helps Plates provide a better experience to you, our valued Chefs. So don’t forget to review, it only takes a second.

RINSE & REPEAT

If you had success with a particular dish, Plates provides you the option to repost the same meal at the click of a button. Make sure to check if you have changed anything since the last time you cooked the meal, especially the allergens.
